First Pentacle of Mars Illuminae Attunement

Solomonic Pentacles remain popular in the occult community and that fame has never faded. This series of attunements delves into the Pentacles of Solomon creating a powerful attunement. It is important to note that this attunement is inspired by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers’ work. I also have added empowerments to this attunement, Solomon’s energy for his magickal expertise in handling his own pentacles and five Kabbalistic Words of Power to enhance the magick. This attunement eliminates the need for ceremonial rituals or memorization of the Kabbalistic Words of Power, once you are attuned, all you have to do is simply speak the name of the attunement to activate the energy.

Mathers says of this pentacle that it is “proper for invoking spirits of the nature of Mars, especially those which are written in the pentacle.”

The spirits associated with the pentacle are listed counterclockwise from the top as follows: Madimiel, B’ritzayah, Eshiel, Ithuriel. The first name, Madimiel (El of Madim), represents the Hebrew name for the planet Mars. It comes from the root (Adam), typically interpreted as “red” in this context, but can also mean “soil,” “clay,” and “earth.” This root is also connected to the ancient root , which signifies “blood” or “silence.” Moving to the bottom left, we find B’ritzayah. The initial letter, can sometimes act as a preposition denoting “at,” “in,” or “with.” The root word of this name leads to a series of words linked to desire. This name can be interpreted as “The Jah Much Desired” or “The Jah Who Satisfies Desire.” This interpretation is influenced by the angelic guidance that mentions how angels strive to fulfill the longings of the heart as beings that satisfy desires. On the bottom right, we have Eshiel, a name that straightforwardly means “Fire El” or “Fire of El.” The term “esh” or “aish,” meaning fire, is onomatopoeic, as it echoes the crackle of flames. Finally, on the top right, we encounter Etauriel or Ithuriel, a name connected to the more recognizable Auriel, the Light El. Grammatically, the (et) at the beginning alters the case to the accusative, and their name holds a meaning akin to “(With the) Light of El.”
